SEO Blogger Tools of the Trade

Recently, I had the luxury of helping a friend take the next few important steps to becoming a pro blogger. She was making very good money after dedicating the better part of the last 3 years into her website. She had a strict writing schedule and made her yoga site really take off with some basic SEO tips that she wasn’t doing

I also offered some tips to help keep the writing going, including a better work desk and a laptop backpack for women opposed to the huge bag she was lugging around when taking her computer to local coffee shops our on the road to write.

Basic SEO Tips when Blogging

  1. Include high-quality images. A lot of pro bloggers worry about copyright issues with getting their images from Google, but I have a great source of FREE images for you to use. This Link is to a collection of free websites that offer license-free images
  2. Remember to use sub-headings to allow for skim readers to get a sense of your article so they know if they should commit to reading. Sub Headings pulls the reader in. Time of site is important, so you need to make sure you have a good dwell time with your blog or website
  3. Link to your sources. It seems that a lot of sites nowadays don’t take the time to properly link to their talking points. This is a wasted opportunity as the site that links to you may return the favor.
  4. Don’t be afraid to get real in your intros. By adding a personal touch your opening yourself up and allowing the reader to get to know you. This goes a long way with the trust factor. If you write like a robot, people will think you are a robot.
  5. Backlink to your best work. Whenever there is an opportunity to link to a previous article that you wrote, do it. Internal linking is huge and a cornerstone of a well-oiled SEO machine
  6.  Don’t be afraid to just write the odd article that promotes your favorite people in your niche or industry. Connecting online is important and hoarding your links is not a great way to build your site. Value the content of the people in your industry.
  7. Guest Blog on sites that look like they are on the right track. Often people get all high and mighty about where they want to guest post. If a site isn’t at the level you’re used to writing for, but it has the potential to get their one day, you’re getting in early. Think of guest blogging as invest in sites that can offer a strong link.
  8. Feel free to allow guest blogging also. Sometimes it’s nice to get an outside perspective from a different voice. If you’re building a brand that people trust, offer them content they’ll enjoy.

Personal Tips for Becoming a Pro Blogger

  1. Find the best time for you to write. Don’t force it. If you are a better writer in the mornings, then make that your time. Get up early, make some coffee and get going.
  2. Turn off Social Media. Make it a game. Set a timer and allow a 15min break between solid one to two-hour writing sessions.
  3. Don’t stress if you need time away. Everyone burns out. If you go a week and don’t get to your site, don’t worry, it happens. It’s better to step away and come back fresh than it is to pump out low-quality content.

SEO Tips & Tricks For StartUp Websites

SEO Startup Tips

A startup website needs to distinguish itself from its competitors while also promoting its value to its potential customers. Most WordPress themes nowadays are built with busy sliders on the homepage, but the truth is an enticing homepage with attention to detail isn’t as important as a clear message about what your website is about. A user-friendly interface is sure to boost engagement, but when you’re in a rush to launch, crucial components can be easily overlooked. SEO for example. The new face of the Internet requires at least a basic SEO strategy when it comes to developing your business. Being relevant in search is important and can’t be overlooked.

The new face of the Internet requires at least a basic SEO strategy when it comes to developing your business. Being relevant in search is important and can’t be overlooked.

The problem is too many Startups cut corners with getting links. You can easily find the scum of the internet by searching for affordable SEO deals in Google. A lot these companies use Fiverr as the primary resource for a lot of these packages. A company will take your money and then hire shady link blast from Fiverr for cheap. They are essentially upselling an inferior product at ten times it’s value to you. So you’re not only paying for useless SEO work, you’re getting ripped off in the process. The worst part is that even if you do see some early benefits from link blasts, the lasting effect will hurt the chances of your website in the long haul.

Rather than spending 10 minutes on outsourcing your website’s SEO, why don’t you invest in content marketing?

Before I jump into these tips on how to get better links for your website, I understand that not all businesses have time to invest in content marketing. For that, I would highly recommend getting a blog management service to help you with creating weekly content for your business.

1. Don’t Write Another Blog Post Until YoU Know Your Keywords

Get to the root of your business. Find out what people are coming to your website for and create content that will bring them in. Don’t just cover the basics either, if your company is a for let’s say hiking boots, write content for hiking tips, things to know, offer tips, suggested trails, times of the day when it’s best to go… cover all things related to your business.

2. Find Lower Competition Keywords For The Best Shot at Ranking Quickly

This means instead of trying to rank for Hiking Boots, try “Hiking Boots for kids”, or “Affordable hiking boots. Create long-tailed keywords.

3. Find Out Which Keywords Are Driving Your Competitor’s Search

There are tons of tools out there, SEM Rush or Aherfs can help you with these SEO research.

4. Find Questions that Need Answering

Quora is a perfect place to flex your muscles. They are an answer base website to popular questions. Quora’s mission is to share and grow the world’s knowledge. A vast amount of the knowledge that would be valuable to many people is currently only available to a few — either locked in people’s heads, or only accessible to select groups.

Four Vital Steps To Build Your Blog From Ground Zero

Even though I have been blogging for over 5 years now, I was too distracted and too involved with other areas of internet marketing to concentrate long enough on my blogs, writing valuable content on a regular basis, and finding the best route to build regular traffic.  I got involved in the article marketing world trying to attract people with my online articles while not focusing enough on my own web property, namely, my blog, or blogs in my case.

In the end, my sales through article marketing reached a ceiling because I wasn’t loving what I was doing anymore.  Even though I was trying to write the best persuasive articles I could with no sales pitch, just trying to help my readers, what I could do with article marketing was limited, and I was neglecting my blogs which were not progressing because of it.

At that point, I realized that there had to be a better way to be successful online and I slowly, but surely, realized that it had to be through blogging.  I decided to concentrate much more on my own blogs and less on article marketing.

In this post, I wanted to show you how you can build your blog from ground zero to your ultimate blogging goal.  I know that we all would like our blog to be on the map over night, but let’s face it, that’s not going to happen.  You’ve got to go through all the steps one by one and build your blog on firm ground.

Once you done that, there is no stopping you on how far you will go with your blog.  But, let’s start at the beginning, shall we?

Why Your Focus Determines Your Reality

People embark on many areas in their life where they feel like giving up. There might even be times when we give up before we even start, while other times we give up before we are about to make a significant breakthrough.

The other day I was reminded how many times I tried something, failed, got back up, failed and tried again.

Have you ever done this?

Ryan Critchett, from IMarketingHacked, wrote an excellent article about the trials we commit ourselves through before finally finding something that sticks. “The online entrepreneur situation is ornate, to say the very least. But with the proper “mind solutions” in place, you’ll put yourself in the position to create anything”. I have always had an entrepreneur mindset, but I may not have known the proper planning in creating a business model that was right for me. When I created this blog, my intentions were quite different, but as time went by I can finally say, it is the right thing for me.

Have you ever heard a person say, starting a business or something will be so hard? Right off the bat, the focus is already on the invisible “fact” that they are going to fail. Their own mind is effectively sabotaging their own efforts and no matter how much effort they put into their task, they are going to fail regardless. Qui-gan said it best, to a budding Anakin Skywalker to always be mindful and that his “focus determines his reality”. You need to have sufficient self-confidence or it will be easy to give into thoughts of self-doubt. Your thoughts create an energy that motivates your outcome and experiences. If your mind is not clear and aligned, your logical intelligence will not be in sync playing the same tune.

  • Learn how to train your mind – Tiger Woods (Tiger) and Mohammed Ali,(Ali) are great examples of people that have mastered how to focus on positive energy and turn it into complete commitment.
  • Focus on something with intent – The more intent your thoughts are, the more it becomes a reality.  You become what you think about.
  • Review your thoughts – Constantly review your thoughts and focus to on keeping them positive.
  • Focus on what you can control – When you focus on what you can control in your life will most times result in what you’re seeking.
  • Ask yourself empowering questions – Ask yourself potent questions that can change the direction about anything in your life.
  • Conditioning of your mind – Your focus determines your perception, so it’s crucial to discover unique ways to condition your mind to be as positive as it can be.

In the end, what you focus on dictates what your outcome will be. If you only see yourself failing, then you will. No one is perfect, all you can do is your best, but make it YOUR VERY BEST. As usual, I write about what has worked for me.
